Five Year Old Logic
I love Five Year Old logic. This morning as my son was eating his oatmeal, he noticed spools of ribbon, containers of white M & Ms, and little baggies that I will be using to create some baby shower favors. This is how this conversation went:
Reese: Cool, M & Ms! Who are they for?
Me: A baby shower
Reese: A baby shower??? Babies take showers?! Or are you just teaching them how to take showers for when they get bigger?
Me: No! The baby shower is for the Mom who is expecting a baby.
Reese: So the mommies eat the M & Ms?
Me: yes. ( I can see the wheels turning)
Reese: So when I was in your belly did you eat M & Ms at a baby shower so I would come out?

ReplyDeleteI just found your blog through Maria's blog. When I was giving a friend a baby shower a few weeks ago, I was making cupcakes and told the kids they couldn't have one because I was giving Jenny a shower and the cupcakes were for that. After getting out of the tub that same evening, Bella looked at me oddly and said, "Mommy, why are you giving Jenny a shower?"
